An Invitation to Sin
4,5 stars!I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The premise was super enticing and the author delivered on it too. I loved everything about this book. The characters, the romance, the setting, everything. I especially loved the humor in the main characters and how it was counterbalanced with some heavy emotional stuff. I also loved how well-suited Taylor and Luca were. They had a lot in common but dealt with their respective issues that were alike in their own way, in a manner befitting their personalities. I loved Luca's impulsiveness and his "I don't give a shit" attitude. And I enjoyed seeing him, playboy king of the one night stands fall for Taylor. What I loved about Taylor were her witty and fun inner thoughts.
Sarah Morgan never disappoints! With AN INVITATION TO SIN she had me glued to the pages from the very first sentence till the last word and proves all those Harlequin Presents nay-sayers wrong! If you know my reading preferences you’ll know I like my books HOT, the hotter the better, and DIRTY, the dirtier the better. Harlequin Presents usually aren’t dirty hot and AN INVITATION TO SIN wasn’t that either, and yet it made me feel the same way my dirty hot books do. Sarah Morgan’s writing has something about it that pulls you in and keeps your attention and don’t leave you wanting more because it gives you all you want, even when there are no explicit dirty sex scenes.
Favorite Scene:
- the scene at the opera > beautifully written, very sexy without any real explicitness it was an amazing scene
Favorite Quotes:
She couldn’t keep this up for much longer. She was going to punch someone, split her dress and end up naked.
‘I’ve got moves that would make you weep.’
‘I’m sure you make women weep a lot, but I’m not a crier.’
‘I like you more and more. You could bathe naked in the fountain.’ He reached for the chilled bottle of champagne. ‘Or I could roll this over your skin.’
Her skin was prickling with the heat and she made a sound that was half laugh, half groan. ‘Now you’re torturing me. Talk about something else, before I melt.’
‘I thought you were trying to prove to the board you’re responsible?’
‘I’ll use a condom. Does that count?’
Turning towards her, he leaned his forehead against hers and smiled that smile that made women forget how to put one leg in front of the other to walk away.
‘We won’t be expending more energy. This was a one-time thing. We’re going to forget this happened.’
He should have been relieved to hear that from a woman. The fact that he wasn’t surprised him. ‘Fine by me. But any time you want me to make you moan again, just tap me on the shoulder. My skills are at your disposal.’
‘Bene. In that case I take you, Taylor Carmichael, to have and to hold, to sin and misbehave with until too much hot sex doth leave us breathless and knackered. How does that sound to you?’
